Fotos y Videos: Actores de Hollywood Visitan a Migrantes en la Frontera

March 11, 2019

Yesterday in Tijuana, we witnessed in person the humanitarian crisis at the border. Mothers and their children seeking safety and their international human right to asylum at our border, but instead being made more vulnerable by the senseless & illegal policies of this administration. In spite of it all, these families remain resilient and hopeful, and their children continue to shine their joyful lights brightly. As a nation, we need to cut through the political fighting and reconnect to our humanity. What our government does, they do in our name. You can stand with these families by donating to the INCREDIBLE work that Families Belong Together is doing on the ground with these families, and by signing the @fams2gether’s petition to block the “Remain in Mexico” policy.

Shelters like @espaciomigrante are providing beds, food, medical & psychological care for families who have made harrowing journeys to seek asylum and are being turned back at our border. They need financial support. You can donate at Espaciomigrante.org - special thanks to @baby2baby who sent down the bundles of supplies we are handing out to children in this video. Thank you so much to @fams2gether & @iwillharness for organizing a trip to the border at Tijuana yesterday to see how asylum seekers are being treated firsthand. As a mother, it was a heartbreaking to see how poorly we are treating refugee families. We MUST demand better for these families. We need to take action and create change to fix the broken asylum system. Thank you to everyone who joined us on this day of witness: @kerrywashington @roselynsanchez @hereisgina. Special thank you to @wilmervalderrama, @americaferrera and @ryanpierswilliams for organizing. #SupportingFamilies #HarnessBeyondBorders #SeparationOfFamilies

This is NOT a political debate. It’s purely a conversation of people being there for people.. the humanitarian crises in the border is a call we have to answer.. we HAVE to understand that this is beyond our differences.. you have the right to believe and stand for what your heart feels. But being there for another human, in their moment of desperation.. it’s what we as people do with honor. Our brothers and sisters have basic needs, that while they wait the faith of their sacrifice.. would at least help them survive the many trials that come with their journey and fight for living a better life, no matter where that is.. @iwillharness and @fams2gether partnered to visit and witness one of the shelters that help those seeking a better life, a life that in many of their cases are not guaranteed in their countries.. #HarnessBeyondBorders To know more on how you can help or donate, here below are some of the orgs doing the work on the ground!: FamiliesBelongTogether.org EspacioMigrante.org AlOtroLado.Org

Let me be clear: It is legal to seek asylum. When people cross our borders, their human rights come with them. We must protect those human rights because as Fannie Lou Hamer said: Nobody's free until everybody's free. Today I went to Tijuana, Mexico with @fams2gether & @iwillharness (and some other familiar faces --) to see, FIRSTHAND, how asylum seekers are being treated. It was an eye opening & heart breaking experience. We were able to bear witness to how the current administration is treating refugee families. We MUST demand better. @fam2gether is doing GOD’S work!!! They are working tirelessly to protect and reunite all families at the border because this has to stop! NO MORE. No more traumatizing children, no more separating families, no more subjecting refugees to inhumane conditions. Not on our watch. Not with our tax paying dollars. Wanna know what you can do?

I had an eye opening experience in Tijuana yesterday. These families need our help. Please join me in donating to @fams2gether so they can continue to support families at the border during this critical time.#SupportingFamilies #HarnessBeyondBorders https://secure.actblue.com/donate/belong Gracias @espaciomigrante por su gran labor.
